The Heritage Center has announced the appointment of Beverly Peirson as its new Executive Director.
With a Masters in Teaching and Education from UW-River Falls and 36-year teaching career, Peirson has shown a true commitment to education and knows first-hand the type of experiential learning that The Heritage Center provides to all ages. Now retired, she volunteers at Grace Place and is a previous Heritage Center Board Member. “My vision for the Heritage Center is to see it grow, but maintain the core mission of preserving the history of New Richmond and to educate our children and young adults of what life was like in the past,” says Peirson. “The Heritage Center hosts some amazing events, like the Hillside Music series and Heritage Days, that I’d like to help grow and promote, along with our historic buildings as a place to visit and learn. Finally, I want to make sure our volunteers are honored and appreciated. They are the heart and soul of the Heritage Center.“ Originally from the Deer Park area, Peirson has lived in New Richmond the past 30 years with her husband Jim. Located on the old Bell-Tierney Farmstead, just south of Main Street by the big barn, The Heritage Center helps to build a connection with our past through exhibits, tours, programs, and events.

I donated a lot of fabric to the barn and have heard through the grapevine that one of the volunteers took all of it and gave to her daughter, as her daughter does crafts and sells these crafts. I am furious to say the least, who ever is in charge better do something about this and immediately or I will make it public on facebook and then you will not have donations, Goodwill will get it all, unfortunately. Nothing will be preserved anymore, Bev get on it, do something, heard you let it go in one ear and out the other, well that material was meant for the public!!!!! Is Bev doing her job for the community or for her friends and self?? Also, move that damn peice of junk in front of gate, you try tripping over it - see how it feels for yourself, someone is going to sue for sure as I hear it has been brought to your attention already, numerous times. Was the election of Bev Pierson such a good thing????
